Obituary

Ruth E. Bear, 89, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Lancashire Hall. She was married to the late John R. Bear, who passed away in 2003. Ruth is survived by four children Robert “Bob” L. Bear, husband of Connie, of Maytown; William R. Bear, of Warnersville; Mary Ann Creasy, wife of Earl, of Manheim; and Judy K. Izarro, wife of David, of Lancaster; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Pricilla Wade, wife of Edward, of Manheim. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Smuck. As well as her husband, Ruth, was preceded in death by a son John D. Bear and a grandson Clayton Creasy.

Ruth attended the Lord’s House of Prayer in Willow Street.   She loved working on the family farm. She would make special floral arrangements for her family, which will be lovingly remembered. An exceptional cook, Ruth enjoyed making memorable holiday and Sunday meals for her family and friends.  Ruth treasured her trips to Charlestown Bay in Maryland.  She also enjoyed going to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown to watch Sprint Car racing on the dirt track.

A graveside service will occur on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 11 A.M at Riverview Cemetery 1100 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to help defray the cost of the funeral expenses (see donations tab).
