Traci L. Derr

Traci L. Derr, also known as Ma, Mimi or Aunt Traci to many, passed away unexpectedly at her Mount Joy home on February 5, 2026. She was the daughter to the late John “Jack” Kirchner Jr., who died serving his country during the Vietnam War, and Marlene (Rudes) Kirchner. She was preceded in death by her brother Kerick. Traci was the loving wife of Matt D. Derr and devoted mother to Brittni Delp and son-in-law Kyle Delp. She is also survived by her two grandchildren; Brayden and Addison who were the light of her world. Traci was a 1980 graduate of Hempfield High School and then continued her education at Empire Beauty School studying Cosmetology. She spent years off and on working at local salons, most recently at Design’s on Main in Mount Joy where she built many personal relationships. However, most of her career and life she was the go-to-stylist for friends and family. Traci devoted herself to friends and family by spending her time caring for and babysitting her close friends’ and families’ children. She developed a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. When her two grandchildren were born, she devoted herself to helping care for and being a constant presence in their lives-being sure to spoil and love them and show up to as many of their sporting events as she could. Traci found great joy in the relationships she had with her family. She was her daughter’s number one cheerleader and, for 22 years, was happily married to the love of her life, Matt. Together, Traci and Matt, shared an immense love of the ocean, their cats, and their grandchildren. Matt and Traci were inseparable. Their love for each other was felt by everyone around them. The Outer Banks was her happy place and she had so many wonderful times there with her family. She will be fondly remembered by all the lives she has touched and standing over an oceanside balcony watching over all the people she loved. In keeping with Traci’s wishes, there will be no traditional services. However, there will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family to gather together and share laughs and memories. This will be held on Friday, February 20th from 5-8 at the Columbia American Legion. 329 Chestnut St Columbia, Pa 17512.
