Gerald "Jere" Heisey Brandt

Gerald “Jere” Heisey Brandt, 86, from Mount Joy, peacefully went home to be with the Lord at his residence on August 26, 2025. Born to the late Jay and Elizabeth Heisey Brandt, Jere was the brother of Clyde Brandt. He faithfully served Christ his entire life and was a longtime member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Mountville, where he worshiped for 65 years. A 1957 graduate of Donegal High School, Jere showed award-winning steers in 4-H. After school, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He then devoted 42 years to a career at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, followed by time at the Manheim Auto Auction. Jere also held membership in Columbia Lodge #286 Masons. Jere was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear friend. Cherishing his memory is his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley K. Steinman Brandt; his children, Keith and his wife Roxanne Brandt, living in Lancaster, PA, and Kim and her husband Mark Denlinger who make their home in Lewes, DE; his granddaughters, Taylor and her husband Jonny Qiu, residing in East Asia, Morgan Denlinger in Raleigh, NC, and Brooke Denlinger with her fiancé Dylan Atkinson, in Lancaster; and his great-granddaughter, Ella Ray Qiu, also in East Asia. Jere found joy in family moments, never missing his granddaughters’ sporting events. He spent many years shelling on the shores of Marco Island and cherished time at his Long Neck, DE home, where he went boating, played cards, and savored dinners with loved ones. A lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Jere also collected baseball cards and coins. Jere was a cheerful man and enjoyed the simple things of life. Now he is living life to the fullest in Heaven with his Heavenly Father. His life, a testament to faith, devotion, and love, will be remembered and treasured by all who knew him. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the team at Hospice & Community Care. A funeral service honoring Jere’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552 on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Silver Spring Cemetery.
