    WILBUR C. DERR

Wilbur C. Derr, 95, of Mount Joy was reunited with his late wife, Mary Risser Derr, who passed in 1986, just two hours shy of their 70th wedding anniversary. Bud is survived by his daughter Mary Ann (Doug) Gerber, with whom he resided in Mount Joy for the past 13 years, and his son Thomas (Lori) Derr, of Mount Joy. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Dawn, Alicia, Amy and Nick. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Derr in 2010. Bud proudly served in the US Army, European Theater during WWII. He retired from Armstrong World Ind., Lancaster floor plant, where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a 50 year member of St. Mark's UM Church of Mount Joy. Throughout his life, it was evident that his faith in the Lord was consistent with his character. In addition, Bud led by example and was both loving and charitable. Wilbur's immediate family would like to thank MediQuest Homecare Services and their excellent staff, especially Diane Shirey and Paul Sadaphal for their loving and compassionate care of Wilbur. Mary Ann, Doug and Tom would like to thank Bud's grandson Nick for his devoted care of his grandfather and his unbelievable maturity and sacrifices he made so our family could continue to care for our father at home. A Memorial Service honoring Wilbur's life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at 7 PM. The Derr family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of his family in Laurel Hill Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Water Street Mission, 210 South Prince St., Lancaster PA 17603, or wsm.org/make-an-impact/donate On line condolences may be directed to www.sheetzfuneralhome.com Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc.
