ROBERT PHILIP "PHIL" FUNK Robert Philip "Phil" Funk, 62, of Landisville, PA, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2016. Born on April 5, 1954, in Renovo, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Beverly Funk of Hyner, PA, and the grandson of the late Frank and Bertha Aber of Shintown, PA. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ella. He is also survived by a brother, Mitchell, of Carmel, Indiana. He graduated from Lower Dauphin High School in 1972 and attended HACC. He owned and operated Elizabethtown Radiator Works. Later, he worked for Electron Energy Corporation and Turnmatic in Landisville and Hechingers in Lancaster. Phil liked hunting, fishing, fossil and rock collecting, attending Carlisle Car shows, and watching the History Channel and Fox News. He was an avid reader. Phil was also the children's pet show judge for 20 years at the Elizabethtown Fair. A man who truly loved God, Phil attended LCBC, Manheim Campus, where he was an active member of Men's Frat and his Life Group. He served in the Cookie Drop Ministry. Phil walked into the arms of his Lord when he was baptized on January 21, 2012. He spent his remaining years learning and helping others along his path in life. Above all things, Phil cherished his wife, Ella, his friends, and his cats, Shadow and Domino. He was a loyal and devoted Christian. Despite his physical disabilities, Phil always believed God had a purpose and plan for his life. He witnessed to his family, friends, doctors, nurses, and fellow kidney dialysis patients of God's great love and taught many life lessons. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and he will live forever in our hearts. Although you may miss his presence, he is only a thought away. His wife would like to thank the following doctors and nurses for their compassionate care during his illness: Dr. Robert G. Shultz, endocrinologist, Dr. Douglas Gohn of The Heart Group, Dr. James E. Harvey of Wellspan Cardiology, Dr. Marc Weiner, Hypertension and Kidney specialist and the Davita Kidney Dialysis Center nurses at the Surburban Outpatient Health Campus. Also, the staff of 6 Lime and 7 Lime at Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and especially for the devoted care of Nurse Adam Everhart. The Memorial Service will be held at LCBC, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, PA, on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11 AM (Please use the Plaza Entrance in the rear of the church). Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will be private.
