Reinhold Berg

Reinhold Berg, 72, of Manheim, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Mistelbach, Germany, he was the son of the late Henry and Gretel (Keller) Berg. Reinhold was the husband of the late Florence Berg. Reinhold immigrated to the United States with his mother, father and sister Christa, in August of 1949. Reinhold's family settled in Lancaster County soon after and he farmed with his family until he began a life-long career as a truck driver. Reinhold retired from Yellow Freight Lines in 2009 and enjoyed telling stories of his many adventures across the country. Reinhold was very proud to drive annually in the Mother's Day Make-a-Wish Truck Convoy. He enjoyed making repairs to just about anything and had a knack for fixing old Volkswagens and Honda motorcycles. Reinhold enjoyed hunting, country music and collecting all sorts of memorabilia. He will be missed by friends and family. Reinhold is survived by two children, William Berg, husband of Skye of Haymarket, VA and Faith Lammert, wife of Tim of Dayton, OH; five grandchildren, Matthew, Bridgit, and Nicholas Lammert and Jacob and Greysen Berg; two sisters, Christa Thomas of Lancaster and Terry Keener, wife of Richard of Mount Joy; and a brother, Robert Berg, husband of Corinne of Newmanstown. A funeral service will be held at East Fairview Brethren Church, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of the Susquehanna Valley, 1054 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
