    Nancy L. Wood

    October 1, 1950 - August 3, 2019

Nancy L. Wood, 68, of Elizabethtown, passed away after a short bout of cancer while vacationing with her children and grandchildren in Williamsburg VA on August 3, 2019. Although she had been diagnosed with cancer, she courageously fought her disease to share special times with her family.  Nancy is survived by two sons, Joel A., married to Heather Wood of Pottsville, and Shaun D, married to Bonnie Wood of Dauphin.  Her grandchildren; Evan, Ethan, Mikayla and Natalie Wood were the most important people in her world.  They will certainly miss her love and affection.  Nancy's memory will remain in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, friends and all her knew her.   Her legacy of love and compassion will remain present throughout their lives.  Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Clifford D. and Esther Smith Rittenhouse.  Also, surviving is her sister Ginny Smith of Lancaster who was her best friend and yard sale, warrior.   A graduate of McCaskey High School, she was a member of the class of 1968.  Nancy was employed as a department manager for Kmart stores in Hershey and Elizabethtown, working for the retailer for over 25 years.  She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elizabethtown and loved all things Christmas and the special joy the season would bring each year.  A yard sale enthusiast, she and her sister would be the "early shoppers", starting out very early on Saturday mornings to get the best sale items.   She also enjoyed spending time visiting Amish country and enjoying Amish restaurants.   A Funeral Service honoring Nancy's life will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 East High Street, Elizabethtown PA on Friday, August 9, 2019, at 1:30 PM with the Reverend A. J. Domines as Celebrant.  Interment to follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster PA.  A viewing will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church from 11:30 to 1:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a go fund me page set up in her honor to help offset funeral expenses would be deeply appreciated.     https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-and-transport-from-virginia-to-pa-4family?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_co_shareflow_m   Condolences may be left by clicking the condolence tab on the website page.
