    Effie R. Brandt

    June 12, 1932 - September 3, 2018

    Effie R. Brandt, 86, of Mount Joy, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Hoffer and Fannie (Gingrich) Reesor. Effie was the wife of the late James M. Brandt who passed away on May 27, 2017.             Effie was a graduate of Hershey High School. Effie and her husband purchased and operated Rohrerstown Lawn Mower Shop until 2001 when they sold the business.  She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Mount Joy. She enjoyed boating and was often found on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay in their wooden Chris Craft boat. Effie also enjoyed trips to the cabin, sewing, cooking and baking.             Effie is survived by her daughter Susan, wife of Leonard Mumma of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Taylor, Mitchell and Kirsten Mumma; two sisters, Martha, wife of the late David Miller of Lititz and Helen, wife of Mahlon Messick of Middletown; and a brother, Elmer Reesor, husband of Ruby of British Columbia, Canada.             She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Brandt; a sister, Esther Engle; and two brothers, Howard and Clayton Reesor.              A Funeral Service honoring Effie's life will be held at Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 12 PM. Effie's family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 PM.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of her family in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 37 East Main Street, Mount Joy PA 17552.
