    Edith L. Stoner

    November 12, 1927 - January 22, 2018

Edith L. Stoner, 90, formerly of Mount Joy, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018.  She and her late husband, J. Lloyd Stoner, shared 65 years of marriage before his death in January 2013.  Edith is survived by her children, Bonita (Terry) Seidel, of Ephrata; Barry (Barbara Fuhrman) Stoner of Maytown; Brenda E. Stoner of Dallastown and Barbara Bierly of Woodward.  She will be missed by her grandchildren, Tamela (Scott) Barrick, Timothy (Jess) Stoner, Tiffany (Brandon Ewig), Jessica Seidel, Jaron Cunrod, Jordan Bierly and Lisa (Bill) Jones and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Cunrod in 2017.      Edith was a graduate of Hershey High School, class of 1945.  She was a homemaker, worked various jobs, and retired as manager of the Donegal High School cafeteria in 1998.  Upon retirement, she and Lloyd moved to their cabin in Mifflin County, making it their home.  They returned to Mount Joy in 2007 to be with family.  Edith was a longtime member of Glossbrenner UM Church, Mount Joy, Ellen Chapel and Garden Club, both of Lewistown.  An active volunteer, she participated in AARP programs and served with the former Fort Grandville Grange and the Eastern Star Chapter #283, Lewistown.      Edith cherished time spent outdoors and watching wildlife.  She was a renowned chef, making everything from scratch, and loved preparing meals, especially for family and friends.  She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlework, and hunting.  Edith took great pride in everything she did and left a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will continue to live through the many lives she has touched.      Services will be private and held at the convenience of her family.  If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604.  On line condolences may be directed to sheetzfuneralhome.com.
