Barbara Lillian Henschel

February 12, 1930 - February 22, 2022

Barbara Lillian Henschel of Mount Joy, PA and formerly of Shelton, CT peacefully passed in her sleep on 2/22/2022 at age 92. The daughter of Steve and Barbara Barna, Barbara was born 2/12/30 in Raritan, NJ. Barbara was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, CT & of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Over the years she was employed at: Bridgeport Hospital Nursing Staff, was an Industrial Nurse at Remington Arms, a substitute school nurse and also a Doctor’s Office staff nurse. She was a Circle Leader and former Chairperson of several committees as well past president of the Woman’s Fellowship of the Huntington Congregational Church where she concentrated on supporting the mission work. She was a past president of Friends of the Plumb Memorial Library where she also co-chaired several book sales. Barbara found great pleasure in spending time with family, reading, gardening, baking and sharing cookies and supporting the mission work. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 56 years, Donald R Henschel, her daughter Tracey E Steven, and her brother Steven F Barna. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter - Sandra Sniadecki (Kenneth) of Shelton CT, son - Wayne Henschel (Barbara) of Elizabethtown PA, son - Karl R Henschel (Amy) of Winfield PA, son-in-law Ken W Steven of Phoenix AZ, as well as grandchildren: Christopher Sniadecki (Josh Wemple) of Rotterdam, NY, Amy Henschel (Clark Cochran) of Perryville, MD, Ben Henschel (Amber Eastman) of Brooklyn NY, Sarah Henschel (Miquel Ubietro) of Madrid Spain, & Ethan Henschel (Tianna White) of Winfield PA Barbara will be buried next to her beloved husband Donald in CT. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be sent the Huntington Congregation Church United Church of Christ at 19 Church St Shelton CT 06484 with a designation for Mission projects.
