Alma Louise Hatchner, 94, of Lancaster, PA went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2016 at Juniper Village, Mount Joy, PA. Born in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Untch) Linz. Alma was the wife of the late Reverend Edward J. Hatchner with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage. Alma joyfully served alongside Edward in ministry at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Connellsville, PA from 1948-1965. There she played the piano and organ, led the choir, taught Sunday School, served and loved the congregation. Their calling then led them to Trinity Assembly of God Church in Huntingdon, PA where they served from 1965-1979. In addition, Alma worked as an assistant to the administrator of the JC Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, PA. during those years. After retiring, Alma and Edward moved to Lancaster, PA and attended New Life Assembly of God Church. Alma enjoyed music, playing the piano, cooking and most of all, spending time with her family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and her life was an example to all of her love and faithfulness to her family and to the Lord. Alma and Edward had two daughters, the late Karen Bolesta, wife of Richard of Troutdale, OR, and Eileen Smith, wife of John of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Shanin Andrew, wife of David Creech of Portland, OR, Jonathan Bolesta, husband of Amie of Phoenix, AZ, Aaron Bolesta of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, Nathaniel Smith of Los Angeles, CA, Andrew Smith of Los Angeles, CA, and Zachary Smith, husband of Ashley of Marietta; and 7 great grandchildren. Alma is survived by a sister, Elsie Mhoon of Miramar, FL. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother. A Funeral Service will be held at New Life Assembly of God Church, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. Family and friends will be received at the Church before the service from 10 A.M.-10:30 A.M. Interment will be private in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
