Warren "Pete" H. FoleyMarch 18, 1926 ~ December 31, 2017 (age 91)
Warren H. “Pete” Foley, 91, of Mount Joy, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his residence. Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late Warren H. and Marion (Hess) Foley. Pete was the husband of the late Ethel (Eisenhour) Foley.
Pete was President of his Hershey High School Class of ’43. He was athletic, intelligent and had a keen sense of humor. He continued his education at Mount St. Mary’s and then to Harvard for Officer Training School. Pete proudly served in the United State Navy during WWII. He moved his family to Mount Joy to begin his printing career at Seiler Printing Company. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy where he served as an Elder, Deacon, choir member and soloist. A talented local artist, many of Pete’s paintings are displayed at the Hershey-Derry Twp. Historical Society where he is also a member. Active in the Mount Joy community, he served on Borough Council and was a past Commander of Mount Joy VFW Post 5752.
Most important to Pete was his family whom he always placed first. Pete is survived by two daughters, Emily L. Foley of Mount Joy and Lora L. Jones, wife of Thomas of Mount Joy; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jury, Abigail Connelly and Corrie Gohn; five great grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann L. Gohn and three sisters, Virginia Hershey, Betty Muench and Colleen Reisinger.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 7 Marietta Avenue, Mount Joy on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 PM. Family and friends will be received at the church following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
