Margaret A. “Peggy” Deascenti, 62, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her residence. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Margaret (Voelkl) Leschke of Columbia and the late John Agresta. Peggy was the wife of Thomas M. Deascenti with whom she would have celebrated 43 years of marriage this April.
Peggy graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School class of 1973. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia. She retired from Homestead Village where she was the Personal Care Administrator. Throughout her life she held many other nursing positions, including the Central Supply Supervisor at Conestoga View and Personal Care Administrator at The Long Home. During her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. Peggy looked forward to her annual family vacations to the beach and trips to Longwood Gardens. Most recently, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Peggy will be greatly missed by all the people she touched throughout her life.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Thomas and mother, Margaret, are three children, Thomas Deascenti Jr. of Mountville, Christopher Deascenti, husband of Allison of Mountville and Michelle Wighaman, wife of Michael of Lititz. Also surviving are two grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Agresta of Lancaster and Barbara Collier of Elizabethtown; and a brother, George Leschke Jr. of Columbia.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry Street, Columbia, PA 17512.
