Linda L. Welles, 73, of Lancaster, passed away on December 26, 2018 at her home. Born in York, PA, She was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Leader. She was the loving wife of Thomas D. Welles Jr, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to her husband Thomas, is a son, Thomas (Shelby Kinn) Welles III of Gilbertsville and a daughter, Julie Welles of Ephrata. Linda is also survived by her granddaughter, Madalyn Welles and her three sisters; Nancy (Stephen) Snyder of Virginia, Joanne (Robert) Williams of Churchville, PA and Jane (Jeffrey) Wells of York, PA.
A lover of family, nature, and animals, Linda was most known for her loving and nurturing nature. Her family, pets, beautiful gardens, backyard wildlife, and the farm animals on her parent’s farm were all deeply touched by her giving and loving heart. She loved road trips and spending time in nature. She camped often in their RV in the mountains with family. When retired, she and husband, Tom, took a five-week road trip out west to see the national parks and landmarks along the way.
She touched many lives through a variety of endeavors: as a nursery school teacher, hearing aid fitter, retail business owner, retail salesperson, a cancer survivor, and most of all, a wife, mom and grandmom. Her bright smile, sense of humor, generous and empathetic spirit will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at The Church of God of Landisville, 171 Church Street, Landisville on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11 A.M. Family and Friends will be received following the service.
