Joseph A. Consoli, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Born in Nesquehoning, PA, he was the son of the late Luigi and Maria (Cozotorto) Consoli. Joseph was the husband of Barbara J. (Hartranft) Consoli with whom he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this coming April 28th.
Joseph was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School class of 1948. Known as Joe the Tailor he worked at David Martin Men’s Store in Elizabethtown for 30 years. Joseph later worked at Bill Maloney Men’s Wear in Hershey and earlier in his career, he also worked as a realtor for Olweiler Realty. Joseph was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown, Hershey Italian Lodge where he played Bocce Ball, the Elizabethtown Moose Lodge 596 and the Elizabethtown VFW Post 5667. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara are four children, Carlo Consoli, husband of Jill of Elizabethtown, Raymond Consoli of Harrisburg, John Consoli of Elizabethtown and Maria Clouser, wife of Chris of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; and a brother, Frank Consoli, companion of Dottie Geib of Mount Joy.
Joseph was preceded in death by a son, Joseph A. Consoli II; four brothers, Vincent, John, Louis and Anthony Consoli; and a sister, Caroline Remaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1840 Marshall Drive
Elizabethtown on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. A light luncheon will follow Mass. Interment will be private at St. Peter Cemetery in Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church Historical Preservation, 1840 Marshall Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
