Barry L. Coover, 75, of Mount Joy, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his residence. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Baker) Coover. Barry was the husband of Vivian (Delrossi) Coover with whom he celebrated 22 years of marriage on May 5th.
Barry proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Barry retired from Alcoa in 2009 as a furnace operator. He was a member of the Vagabonds Car Club and the American Legion Post 469 in Wrightsville. Barry enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to Tennessee, the casino and car shows.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Vivian, is a daughter, Paige McConnell, wife of Mitch of Elizabethtown; three stepsons, Jeremy L. Delrossi of Mount Joy, Joshua L. Delrossi of East Earl and Jay L. Delrossi of East Earl; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Coover of Mount Joy, Warren Coover, husband of Jean of Middletown and Herb Coover of Mount Joy; and a sister in law, Shirley Holmes of Manheim.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold and a sister, Evelyn.
A memorial service honoring Barry’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc. 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Henry Eberle Cemetery, Mount Joy.
