Philip A. Nolt

Philip A. Nolt, 36, of Hallam, passed away at his home on Friday, July 10, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Phil was employed as a Technology and Engineering teacher at Dallastown Area High School for the past thirteen years, teaching woodworking, robotics, and electronics. He loved helping students discover new interests and watching them grow in confidence and skill. In 2019, he started Nolt Engraving LLC, providing custom laser engraving services to local schools, businesses, and individuals. Phil was always the happiest when he was working with his hands and showcasing his creativity, whether it was woodworking, laser engraving, house projects, or making gifts for others. A 2008 graduate of Donegal High School, Phil earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology and Engineering Education from Millersville University in 2013 and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in 2016. It was at Millersville where Phil met his wife Kaitlyn (Houseal) and proposed on the day of their graduation. They built a beautiful life together and his legacy is visible in his three children, Carson, Lucas, and Hailey. He especially enjoyed coaching his children’s various sports teams or cheering them on from the sidelines. An avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, Phil enjoyed playing sports and games of all kinds and looked forward to family beach vacations. He loved spending time with his family, and his wife and kids truly meant the world to him. Faith was an import pillar of his life. He accepted Christ at age fourteen, while attending summer camp at Circle K. Part of the faith family at Calvary Bible Church for the past ten years, he volunteered with the children’s ministry, Vacation Bible School, church projects, and various engraving projects. Phil was deeply grateful for God’s faithfulness through life’s various trials and the personal growth they provided him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, creative mind, perseverance, and the lasting impact he made on his family, friends, students, and community. Surviving in addition to his wife, Kaitlyn, are three children, Carson, Lucas, and Hailey and his parents, Les and Pam (Ranck) Nolt, and brothers, Doug, husband of Mary (Martin), and Randy, husband of Ashley (Dagan), and five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Nolt and Parke and Emma Ranck, as well as his aunt, Petrina (Ranck) Westfall. A funeral service honoring Phil’s life will be held at Community Bible Church, 313 Anderson Ferry Road, Marietta, on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 3pm. Family and friends will be received at the church following the service. Interment will be private at Henry Eberle Cemetery.
