Margaret A. Lesher

Margaret Ann Lesher, 96, Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Born on March 27, 1929, in Greene Township, Franklin County PA to the late Milton and Alma (Byers) Wenger. She graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School. Margaret was married to the late James J. Lesher (1928-2019) of Greencastle, PA on November 23, 1950. Margaret was a homemaker and served as a certified nursing assistant for many years at Mosaic Village. She also served with James as a pastoral couple at two Brethren in Christ congregations: Iron Springs, Fairfield, PA, and Perkiomen Valley, Collegeville PA. In the 1970’s she and James moved to Mount Joy, PA, first living on Ore Mine Road and later moving to Mount Joy Country Homes. In 2018 she moved to Messiah Village at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, PA. Margaret is survived by a son Emerson L. (Ruth Detweiler) Lesher, Mechanicsburg, PA and a daughter Emily A. (Eric) Wolgemuth, Elizabethtown, PA; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Rachel Moffett) Lesher, Katherine A. (Paul Boyed) Lesher, Winston L. (Amanda Hershey) Wolgemuth, Juston A. Wolgemuth; and six great grandchildren Ava G. Lesher, Henry E. Lesher, Frankie J.L. Boyed-Lesher, Josphine J. Boyed-Lesher, Hiram L. Wolgemuth and Ethel S. Wolgemuth. She is also survived by siblings Gladys Gorman and Ray Wenger. Predeceased siblings include Alfred Wenger, Abby Oswald, J. Ralph Wenger, Joel Wenger, Sarah Boppe, and Doris Horst. Margaret was dedicated to and enjoyed her immediate and extended family, church activities, volunteering, putting puzzles together, cooking and gardening. She was an active member of the Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy, PA and was commissioned as the first woman to serve as a deacon. Services will be held at Cross Roads Church, 800 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552 on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11 AM. The family will receive friends and family at the church before the service from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. A private interment will be at the Montgomery Church Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
