|At Sheetz Funeral Home, we believe that when dealing with a loss, our services should entail three main ideas: services are appropriate to the needs of the family, the cost is affordable, and the services are meaningful. Whatever your choice, we are honored that you placed your trust in us and pledge to carry out our services to meet your expectations in an honest and dignified way. |
There are three separate components to a complete funeral arrangements.
These charges stem directly from the funeral home and are relative to the type of services a family chooses. Each service the funeral director offers is itemized on the following pages. In keeping with the green movement in funerals, except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or immediate burial. Therefore, if the family of the deceased is not planning to have a public viewing, that charge may be deleted from the total cost.
Cash Advance Items
Cash advanced items are costs that are fixed by another company and may be purchased on your behalf by the funeral home, or by yourself. Examples of fixed costs include cemetery charges, vault company charges, memorial stones, engraving charges, and newspaper notices. Honorariums for the clergy, flower arrangements, and luncheons are decisions left to you. Note well: it is the policy of The Sheetz Funeral Home not to charge an extra for the procurement of cash advanced items. It is also our policy not to collect funds to cover cash advanced items prior to the funeral service. These charges are presented in an itemized bill.
Merchandise consists of caskets and vaults, clothing, memorial folders, acknowledgement cards, register books and any special memory folders, dvds, or videos you may choose.
