Aument, Mary Jane

Mary Jane Gingrich Aument, 91, of 22 West Donegal St., Mount Joy went home to her Lord on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Her husband, Clayton D. Aument, Jr. passed away in 1992.
Mary Jane retired from the former Benderís Store, Salunga, where she worked in the meat department for over 40 years. A charter member of Hempfield United Methodist Church, she was active in the Senior Ministry of HUMC and a Friday morning Partner in Ministry in the office of HUMC for 15 years. Mary Jane was a member of the Leisure Club of Mount Joy and a 1935 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. Mary Jane lived to give to others, working on crafts, decoupaging pictures, jewelry boxes, and coasters, and making jewelry from HUMC worship bulletins, always with someone in mind to receive these gifts. Mary Jane also crocheted afghans and loved to cook and bake, which she shared with others. Her granddaughters were especially loved, and received special gifts of life sized hobbyhorses and dollhouses, which she built.
Born in Emigsville, she was the daughter of the late Ohmer F. and Mabel L. Fry Gingrich.
Mary Jane will be deeply missed by her son, Clayton Darryl Aument, Mount Joy; her daughter, Joan E. married to James B. Karr, Conestoga; two granddaughters, Kristy Karr, Millersville, and Kelly married to Shawn Reppert, Manheim; three sisters, Gladys Heisey, Mechanicsburg, June married to Roy Gochenour, York, and Jeanne married to Gerald Lindemuth, Maytown. Two grandsons, Jess and James Karr; and four brothers, Ohmer, Jr., Arthur, Paul, and Charles Gingrich preceded her in death.
A life celebration service for Mary Jane will be held at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:30 am with Senior Pastor John Longmire and her nephew, Pastor Jan Gingrich officiating. There will be no public viewing and no visitation prior to the service, however Mary Janeís family will receive friends immediately following the service during a time of fellowship. Burial will follow in Mount Joy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Janeís name may be made to Hempfield United Methodist Church, Care Ministry, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
