Tyndall, Frank R.
Frank R. Tyndall, 75, of Harvestview South, Mount Joy passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2008 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Frank worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Mount Joy for 30 years, retiring in 1992. A member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, he helped with the monthly newsletter, served as a steward on the finance team, and as an usher. In the community, Frank was a member of Mount Joy Helping Services where he was very active with the Food Bank. A veteran of the Korean War, Frank served in the U. S. Army. He was a 1950 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. An avid bowler, Frank participated in the Mount Joy Towne A League at the Clearview Bowling Lanes, Mount Joy and enjoyed walking.
Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Frank R., Sr. and Dorothy M. Loraw Tyndall.
Frank will be missed by his sister; Miriam married to Glenn Wolgemuth, Hershey; his niece Bonnie married to Wesley Powers, Lititz; his nephew Ken married to Karen Wolgemuth, Thompsontown; five great nieces and one great nephew.
A memorial service honoring Frank’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 2 pm with the Reverend David E. Woolverton officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 until 2 pm. Interment is private in Mount Joy Cemetery.
