George M. Heisey, 79, of Landisville, passed away, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Raymond and Anna Mae (Buller) Heisey. George was the husband of Joan (Miller) Heisey.
George proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the former NCR of Mount Joy as a printer. George was a member of the VFW Mount Joy, Post #5752 and enjoyed collecting and researching historical items.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Joan, are two children, Lorie Jones of Lucas, TX, and George Heisey Jr. husband of Michelle of Mountville. Also surviving are two grandchildren; Melissa Mutzel, and Brandon Heisey; and three great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Charles, and Raymond Heisey and a sister, Dorothy McLaughlin.
A Memorial Service honoring George’s Life will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 211 South Market Street, Mount Joy on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Access Fund, 211 S. Market St., Mount Joy, PA 17552.
