Ruth V. Tyndall, 75, of 602 Hearthstone Lane, Mount Joy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Her husband, John E. “Jack” Tyndall died September 7, 2008.
Formerly of 805 Church St., Mount Joy, Ruth was a homemaker and also helped her husband in his business, Nationwide Insurance, for 42 years. Earlier in her life she worked part time for the former Kitty’s Dress Shop, Mount Joy. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. An excellent gourmet cook, Ruth enjoyed entertaining, traveling with Jack, and spending time at their home away from home in Ocean City, MD. She also enjoyed crafts, bird watching, and loved animals, especially her pet bulldogs.
Born in Florin, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude Kaley Nentwig.
Ruth will be fondly remembered by her two daughters, Debra Tyndall, companion of Donald Alleman, and Jill, married to Nick Siemon, both of Mount Joy; and her sister, Betty Kendig, Mount Joy. Two sisters, Carrie Grove and Fannie Musser, and two brothers, Robert and Elwood Nentwig preceded her in death.
A memorial service honoring Ruth’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11 am with Reverend Michael J. Martine officiating. There will be no public viewing, however Ruth’s family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am. Interment is private in Mount Joy Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
