Rosalie K. BrandtAugust 20, 1936 ~ May 12, 2017 (age 80)
Rosalie Kathryn Brandt, better known as “Sis“, was an amazing woman who peacefully passed away in her Mount Joy home on May 12, 2017.
Sis was born August 20, 1936 to Mildred and Henry Way. She grew up in Elizabethtown and graduated from EAHS in 1954. Shortly after she met and married the love of her life, W. Paul Brandt, and started a family. Sis and Paul had a true love for the West, and enjoyed horseback riding, Together with friends they started a horse back riding club called the “Pennsy Trail Riders” where many good memories, laughter, and life long friendships were formed. For a few years she worked at Silco and the Dollar Store, but the majority of her time was spent working on her and Paul’s family business “Whitetail Arts and Crafts“. Her most important and successful job was raising her two children, Paula (Susie) and Clay (Butch).
She loved cooking, crafts, horses, traveling out West, but above all, her true passion was her family and friends and the power of positive thinking. She sought to instill in her children the love of life, kindness to others, and the love of family and friends, She will long be remembered for her kind heart, helping hands, and inspiring words. Her continual optimism will forever be remembered by all those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Henry Way, her husband of 51 years, W. Paul Brandt, and a sister Janet Bomgardner, wife of Denny Bomgardner, three brothers - Jim Way, husband of the late Cora Way, Charles Way, husband of Pat Way, and Henry Way Jr., husband of Claudia (Cook) Way, and her dear friend Bill Graybeal.
Her spirit is carried on by her daughter Paula (Susie) Koski, wife of the late Ed Koski, a son, Clay (Butch) Brandt, husband to Bonnie Brandt. Five grandchildren - Granddaughter Jennifer Brandt and William Petty, Granddaughter Amanda Brandt and Dave Moore, Granddaughter Rachel Sager wife of Adam Sager, Grandson Matthew Brandt, husband of Leah Brandt, Grandson Zach Brandt and Amanda Brown, Four great Grandchildren - Patrick Brandt, Bohdi Moore, Maxxwell Sager, and Era Petty , two sisters Mim Geltmacher, wife of Barry Geltmacher and Dorothy Noll, wife of deceased husband Jim Noll, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
