Lloyd A. Schaffner Jr.December 7, 1946 ~ April 7, 2017 (age 70)
Lloyd A. Schaffner Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother, 70, of Mount Joy, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Lloyd Sr. and Betty (Herbein) Schaffner. Lloyd was the husband of Patsy (Shank) Schaffner with whom he would have celebrated 48 years of marriage this coming April 26th.
A Vietnam veteran, Lloyd proudly retired from the United States Army after 20 years of active duty. He later retired from the Manheim Auto Auction as an Account Coordinator. Lloyd was an avid bowler having several 300 games. He was a Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. He enjoyed playing baseball and at one time had a tryout with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lloyd coached many little league and women’s softball teams. He enjoyed trips to the beach and casinos.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Patsy, are two children, Lloyd A. Schaffner III of Mount Joy and Shannon Schaffner, companion of John Norwood of Marietta; two grandchildren, Asher and Enna Norwood; two sisters, Linda Spence, wife of Michael of Mount Joy and Lynn Barninger, wife of Steve of Columbia; and a brother, Lee Schaffner, husband of Lynn of Lititz.
A graveside service honoring Lloyd’s life will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301
