H. Clarence "Skip" NewcomerDecember 7, 1927 ~ February 9, 2017 (age 89)
H. Clarence “Skip” Newcomer, 89, of Woodcrest Villa, passed away on Thursday, February 09, 2017 at Mennonite Home. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Phares S. and Emma B. (Landis) Newcomer. Skip was the husband of Phyllis (Dougherty) Newcomer with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage this past October 4th.
Skip was a Real Estate Appraiser and a founding partner of Penn Grant Realty and Appraisal Associates. He served as President of Greater Lancaster Board of Realtors in 1973 and 1979. Skip was a previous member of Landisville Church of God and a current member of Mount Joy Church of God. He was also a member and past President of Optimist International Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis, are four children, Sandra Graham wife of Donald, serving with OMF in Singapore, Stephen Newcomer husband of Diane, of Lancaster, Karen Fricke wife of James of Denver and Brian Newcomer husband of Victoria of Mount Joy. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Warren Newcomer.
A memorial service honoring Skip’s life will be held at Woodcrest Villa Eagle Commons, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at Woodcrest Villa before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will be private at Erb’s Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Home Benevolent Fund, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
