Frederick W Lahr

                Frederick Wilson Lahr, 76, of Mount Joy, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Lancashire Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Dalmatia, PA, he was the son of the late Lynwood L. and Julia (Greibelbis) Lahr. Fred was the husband of Margaret “Peggy” Lahr.

                Fred proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Dutchland Farms in Rheems and later retired from Donegal School District. In 1991 he started Lahr’s Lawn Care and worked part time for Mount Joy Auto Parts. Fred was a member of the Hempfield Sportsmen’s Association and a life member of Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club in Clearfield County. He was an avid New York Giants fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time at his cabin in Clearfield County.

                Surviving in addition to his wife, Peggy, are three children, Fred C. Lahr, husband of Jennifer of Manheim, Tyann R. Miller, wife of Brian of Stevens and Perry N. Lahr, husband of Rachel of Georgia; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Leroy Eisenhower, husband of Audrey of Dornsife, PA.

                He was preceded in death by a son, Rick Lahr and a brother, Perry Mahoney.

                A memorial service honoring Fred’s life will be held at Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, 713 Church Street, Mount Joy on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
