Cloy M. RisserDecember 19, 1931 ~ November 2, 2017 (age 85)
Cloy M. Risser, 85, of Landisville, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Longwood Manor, Maytown. Born in Landisville, he was the son of the late Paul and Elsie Risser. Cloy was the husband of the late Marian Risser with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on August 28th.
Cloy graduated from the former East Hempfield Township High School class of 1950. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Cloy retired from C.Y. Tanger and Son as a hardware salesman. Cloy was a member of Trinity E.C. Church in Mount Joy. He was an excellent baseball player during high school and later became a coach and umpire. Cloy was also a basketball official. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two children, Steven Risser, husband of Rosemary of Southington, CT and Debra Ebersole, wife of Karl of Landisville. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Stephen and Maeghan Risser, and Ben Ebersole; and a brother, Paul “Will” Risser, husband of Lorraine of Warminster, PA.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Dorothy, Anna Mae, June, Mildred, Mary, Pauline, David and Jay.
A funeral service honoring Cloy’s life will be held at Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church, 37 East Main Street, Mount Joy, on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
