Christina M. Vuxta ErbMay 10, 1973 ~ March 26, 2017 (age 43)
Christina M. Vuxta Erb, 43, of Mount Joy, passed away with her family by her side on March 26, 2017, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the loving wife of Fred M. Erb, with whom she shared 16 years of marriage. Together they had two children, Scott who passed as an infant in 2001, and their daughter Sydney Jean Erb who lives at home.
Tina was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School, class of 1991. She later graduated from the Consolidated School of Business and began working for Eye Health Physicians of Lancaster for 15 years. Most recently, she was employed by Manning and Rommel Associates, Lancaster. Tina loved to garden in her back yard and prepare canned foods for her family to enjoy on cold winter days. She also enjoyed making crafts and creating her own greeting cards. Tina was an accomplished baker, preparing wedding cakes and baked goods, especially cupcakes for family and friends. Tina had an incredible zest for life living each day to the fullest. Spontaneity was a special quality she possessed and was most often revealed in the organization of unplanned trips she would coordinate for Fred and Sydney. Her infectious smile and loyal friendship will leave warmhearted memories which will live on in the hearts of her family and her many friends.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Francis W. husband of Joyce Barth Vuxta, and Delores J. Dumez Redcay, all of Elizabethtown. Also surviving is her maternal grandmother, Martha Wilkerson Dumez Hoy of Middletown. Three brothers, Jeffrey, (Tammy Murphy) Vuxta and Timothy (Amy Turner) Vuxta, both of Elizabethtown and Brian (Ada Wolfe) Vuxta of Highspire. Three step-siblings, Jennifer (Chris) Miller of Hershey; Richard (Donna) Redcay of Elizabethtown and Cheryl Ober of Mount Joy.
A Celebration of Tina’s life will be held at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 AM. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 am. PLEASE NOTE: The service will begin promptly at 11 AM. Casual dress is requested and please remember that Tina’s favorite color was PINK! Interment to follow in Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, Mount Joy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ann B.
