Audrabelle O. “Audrey” Jackson, 89, of 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, became absent from the body and present with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2018.
Audrabelle was born in Boardman, Ohio, June 24, 1928 to the late Hector R. and Lillie Mauk Jackson. She is survived by two nieces, a nephew, and several grand nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Robert and Vernon, and one sister, Lille Ann Wehr, predeceased her.
A 1946 graduate of Boardman High School, Audrabelle went on to graduate from the Philadelphia College of Bible in 1952 and graduated from Wheaton College in 1955. Audrabelle became a member of the China Inland Mission(CIM) in 1955 and sailed for Singapore in 1956. In that year Audrabelle was appointed to the staff of the International Headquarters, which had been moved from Shanghai, China to Singapore in 1952. During the thirty-seven years of ministry there, the CIM became Overseas Missionary Fellowship and is now OMF International. She retired to the Lancaster CIM/OMF International Community in January 1994, now a part of Calvary Fellowship Homes. Audrabelle was a member of Calvary Church, Lancaster where she was active in nursery and early childhood ministries. She was also an Associate Member of Struthers Baptist Tabernacle in Ohio.
A memorial service honoring Audrabelle’s life will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the Calvary Fellowship Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10 AM, with Pastor Todd Nathan officiating. There will be no public viewing, however Audrabelle’s family will greet friends immediately following the service. Private interment in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Audrabelle’s name may be made to OMF, Lammermuir Fund, 10 West Dry Creek Circle, Littleton, CO 80120-4413.
