Albert Charles Newlin, Sr. entered his next chapter of life surrounded by his family, the morning of Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 at the young age of 81. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1956 - 1958. Al lived his life to the fullest, first a family man and second a dedicated and successful interior designer and furniture salesman. More than anything, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He found joy in seeing his relatives and friends from all corners of the country. Al loved socializing, enjoyed traveling, bike-riding with his wife and keeping up with his sports teams, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He and his wife were blessed to celebrate their 60th anniversary together on February 1st, 2018.
Al is preceded in death by his mother, Erma Rittenhouse-Axe. He is survived by his wife Nancy-Jo, children Albert Jr. and wife Marie, Gregory and wife Laura, Melinda and companion Frank Zink and brother Mel and wife Carol. “Pop” is also survived by grandchildren Shawn, Katie, Andy and Anthony as well as numerous extended family.
A memorial service honoring Albert’s life will be held at Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church, 37 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10 AM. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 9 AM to 10 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Joy Cemetery.
