Jonathan R. "Jon" Sheetz is the son of Gerald R. and Mary H. Sheetz.  He and his wife Donna McNamara Sheetz were married in 1987; together they have three sons, Peter, Stephen and James, and reside on Pinkerton Road in Mount Joy.

Jon grew up in a funeral home environment and was well adapted to the usual sights one would encounter in a funeral home.  He made his entry into funeral service at the age of 12 when he volunteered to assist his father with a death call on New Year's Eve, 1971.  He is a 1977 graduate of Donegal High School and attended Cabrini College in Philadelphia.  Later he graduated from Boston College in 1985, and received an Associate in Funeral Service degree from the New England Institute, Boston in 1986.

Jon's experience in funeral service is extensive, having worked for funeral homes during his high school years, as well as in Boston, and Lancaster prior to joining his father in 1986.  He is steadfast on his beliefs that care after the funeral is as important as that given during the time of the services.  His advocacy of after care at the Sheetz Funeral Home has led to the appointment of a permanent position, filled by Joan Rutt, a very capable counselor.  He is dedicated to keeping the wishes of the family members first in mind.  A conservative minded individual himself, Jon believes in keeping funeral costs as affordable as possible.  Each service is independent of the other due to itemization of charges.  Costs can be managed with minor charges, which he will openly suggest and share with clients.

He is an ardent flyfisher and enjoys family time with his sons, siblings and in-laws.
